The “Vintage Cymbal Pack” is a 3GB collection of vintage Avedis Zildjian cymbals from the 1950’s and 1960’s meticulously sampled and presented here in this Kontakt Instrument.

Vintage cymbals are incredibly popular with studio drummers because of how beautiful they sound, aged with a glorious patina that helps to mellow the cymbal which results in some of those harsh frequencies so common in some modern cymbals being removed.

This particular collection of cymbals includes;

15" 1950's Avedis Paper Thin Hi -Hats

15" 1950's Avedis Paper Thin Crash

16" 1960's Avedis Thin Crash

18" 1960's Avedis Crash

20" 1960's Avedis Thin Crash

22" 1950''s Avedis Ride

8" 1960's Avedis Splash.

Each cymbal comes with multiple velocities and articulations for incredible realism when programming.

The ride cymbal features bell (4 velocity layers), tip (5 velocity layers) and shoulder articulations (4 velocity layers) with up to 9 samples per layer.

The hi-hats feature pedal splashes (4 velocity layers), closed pedal hits (5 velocity layers) and a wide range of variations from tightly closed to fully open (6 velocity layers each) with up to 9 samples per layer again.

Multi-velocity crash cymbal chokes are also included and as a bonus for “Rhapsody in Bohemia” customers, samples of Roger Taylor’s trademark hi-hat ‘barks’ are also included.

Users can engage the green key button on the channel fader to activate the close microphone signal for that particular cymbal. This will be particularly useful for the hi-hats and ride cymbal. Users wishing to have a more diffused cymbal sound, can de-activate this control on a per-cymbal basis and merely use the overhead and room signals instead.

User controlled Overheads, Room and Direct Microphone volume levels, plus independent pan control, solo and mute for each cymbal ensures plenty of flexibility when it comes to creating a cymbal balance that works within your track.

The instrument also includes customisable midi mapping capabilities along with an effective limiter and a tilt EQ to add (or remove) extra sheen from the cymbals.

The minimum Kontakt requirement to play these instruments is 5.8.1 and the full version of Kontakt is required, not Kontakt Player. The instruments will play in Kontakt Player for 15 minutes in demo mode before they time out, although resetting Kontakt Player will reset the timer. These instruments will also play perfectly in Kontakt version 6.
