“Rhapsody in Bohemia” is a drum sample pack for Slate Digital’s Trigger plugin (with accompanying 24bit WAV files) that pays homage to the fat, vintage sounds of Queen drummer Roger Taylor but with a modern slant. These samples are recorded with a view to sounding extremely natural, fat and full of tone and as a result they are capable of being used in a wide range of genres where an organic vibe is desired. The pack features a gorgeous Ludwig classic maple kit with a 22x16 kick (In both dampened and wide- open tunings), 12x8, 13x10 and 16x16 toms and capped off with a 1968 Ludwig Supraphonic 400 chrome over brass snare drum. Each drum comes with separate control over the close mic’ed signal, stereo overheads, a mono room, stereo room, auxiliary close vintage U87 track and a special print of the studio echo chamber enabling the user to quickly move between tight and punchy to wide open and ambient. The kick and snare drums feature 6 velocity layers with multiple samples per layer and also includes a second articulation for triggering hard hits. The toms feature 5 velocity layers with multiple samples.
The microphone list used to capture the samples is as follows:
